Suzanne Bogue, program chair here, welcoming you to the brand new Panhandle Professional Writers blog. We’ve got some great programs coming up and the board members will be taking turns posting something interesting, informative, and fun once a month. We’ll be posting guest blogs from our upcoming speakers’ roster as well as posts from the board members.
Our focus is on our mission: ” To bring together writers of the Panhandle of Texas and surrounding regions; to help them in attaining higher writing standards; to encourage them toward their goals of publication; and to help published writers promote their work.”
In an effort to enhance that goal, our blog posts will be focused on the art of writing. Currently, our programs are centered on “The Basics,” so our blogs will follow that same format. We’ll try to include tips and tidbits gleaned from many sources and keep them interesting and informative. So, please come back and visit often, and remember, we love to hear your comments.
Right now we are searching for a name for our blog. Please write your suggestions in the comments section. Deadline for suggestions will be May 1, 2012. The board will consider all suggestions and the top choice will be announced at the May 19, 2012 bi-monthly meeting during the lunch business meeting. The winner will receive 25% off their 2012 FiW Conference tuition.
